( the wrapped package shows up a couple of days after the argument, in the study that functions mostly like an office for the time being. the gift isn't anything fancy, a gaudy picture frame that clashes with the rest of the furniture in the room and entertains blue all the more because of that fact. a few pictures tucked in but none actually framed — one of the two of them in front of the house, blue with a packed box in her arm and an eye roll in her expression; one of nailgun curled up and sleeping on henry's lap on the couch; one that's a selfie she'd sent weeks ago just to be stupid, blue in a pair of henry's most obnoxious sunglasses, flipping off the camera.
she's painstakingly scribbled over the card attached to the top, turning whatever weird porny image had previously been on the front into something appropriate for work. there's a short message inside — one scribbled out, and a new one written alongside it. )
