Why?
He's going to need someone and this is something I can actually help with.

I mean technically the city has my name on a title or whatever, but I'm not actually making anyone's decisions. Everyone's responsible for themselves, even if the rules are what they are.

He might not even live with us. And even if he does it's actually not that big a deal having a housemate. I lived with cousins I barely spoke to for months and hardly even noticed. And three months isn't that long. Literally what is the point of me not having a tattoo if I'm not going to make it useful.

I don't think he's going to screw us over if that's what you mean.

And what, I just leave him to whatever shit this place decides to throw at him for months when I can do something right now instead and just say good luck, hope nothing bad happens? Let me know if you need saving from the jail or the zoo or any other messed up thing they want to pull with people just because they haven't found contracts yet?

He was upset.

I don't understand why you're so dug in on this. He's a nice person and I'm friends with him and want to help. And I can help. Why is that hard to understand?

( what she might as well have said is, all of henry's points are perfectly reasonable, but she doesn't particularly want to listen to them right now. )

It's just a contract. It doesn't mean the same thing to us as it does to this place, we all know they're just a means to an end. You don't even have to get along with him if you don't want to.

I'm not just going to sit around and do nothing and wait for things to go bad again.

Don't say it like that.

You know what, never mind. That's fine.
I'm going to be out for a bit.

( there's a lot of typing and backtracking while blue tries on several responses for size, ranging from petty vicious barbs to exceedingly apologetic pleading, but in the end she deletes them all. goes with something a lot simpler. )

Always.
